Being your true self can be hard but if you have the right people in your life, it can help you be the best version of yourself. This book really inspires you to just be yourself even in today’s society. Throughout this book, you really get to know Evan and his feelings.

Personally, I didn’t dislike anything about the book. I also like how the book changes the point of view every couple of chapters. My favorite part of the book is when Evan interacts with his crush even if it was temporary. I like this book because it talks about the struggles of being a teenager in this generation. Evan even gains a new family in the process. Afterwards, Evan has to pretend he’s someone's friend to ease the pain of the parents. One day someone reads the letter and dies by suicide. His mom constantly encourages him but she’s rarely around. He sees a therapist who tells him to write letters to himself to boost his confidence. Evan Hansen is a modern day teen struggling with really bad social anxiety. This book is based off the Broadway show Dear Evan Hansen.
